I resolve to be bold in 2017. It’s not easy to be bold. When you are bold, some people may not like it. But, I do not want to live in fear of what others think because I am called to be bold. With this calling, being bold brings authenticity as God intends for me. So, with boldness, I plan to:
- Love deeply and authentically
- Live in the present
- Respect and honor people who think and act differently from me
- Pray more and worry less
- Work, work, and work more to protect and improve the lives of the vulnerable and disenfranchised in our society
- Speak about issues that I am called to speak about
- Serve others with kindness and love
- Be true to my authentic self as God intended
- Laugh more
- Enjoy the little and big moments in life
These are my ten commandments for 2017. Life is too good for me to act and speak any differently. The hardships of 2016 taught me that. So, with this blog, I plan to laugh, YES, and laugh some more, but I also plan to speak about serious issues, like politics, religion, schools, and any other issues that the Holy Spirit lays on my heart. I feel like the stakes are too high to be silent, and I want to be engaged with friends who can, even in disagreement, challenge me to help solve the problems in our world.
So, I resolve to be a ten-gallon-mouth mama – a gal from the South who speaks ten words a second with gusts to fifty. The time is now.
